Kevin and Fran offer styles including boogie woogie, New Orleans jazz, some pop classics and Latin.
Pianist Kevin Clark and vocalist Fran Barton first teamed up together in the ‘70s working together at a top fine dining restaurant in Wellington for several years, and then moved on to television and radio work.
As a duo, (or with the addition of bass and drums) they are very busy and popular with their brand of fun accessible jazz with quirky humorous songs, boogie woogie, New Orleans, some pop classics and Latin.—drawing on the repertoire of Diana Krall, Peggy Lee and others. Kevin also plays the trumpet and piano at the same time.
They have many credits including some fifty television appearances, many radio programmes, and appearances at major jazz festivals in New Zealand. Regular bookings include diplomatic corps functions, corporate dinners and events, food and wine festivals, restaurants, weddings and performance shows that they produce—(“Cuba, Cabaret and Country”, “Remember the 60s”, “Nostalgia Ain’t What it used to be”, “40 Years and Counting” etc
